Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using SafeDine ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
Description of Service
SafeDine provides restaurant safety information based on publicly available health inspection data from multiple state and local authorities. The public source registry is the current record of configured, historical, and planned integrations; an enabled integration does not by itself prove a fresh successful retrieval.
Where inspection evidence is unavailable, SafeDine may display directory listings sourced from providers such as Foursquare or OpenStreetMap. Listing coverage is not guaranteed to be complete, and listings do not receive safety scores.
Our service calculates safety scores using a proprietary algorithm to help consumers make informed dining decisions. SafeDine also offers community features including restaurant reviews and food safety incident reporting.
Data Accuracy and Score Eligibility
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, SafeDine makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the data displayed.
Important: Our scores are derived from official inspection records but represent our independent analysis. They are not official government ratings. Always refer to the original government data source for authoritative information.
Limited-detail records: When a source publishes only an aggregate, grade, or native agency score, SafeDine preserves that native result separately and does not present an estimated value as a comparable SafeDine score.
Certification verifies SafeDine's stored inputs, source contract, calculation version, and reproducibility. It does not guarantee that an authority's original observation was error-free; source corrections can require a new, superseding score run.

User-Generated Content
SafeDine allows users to submit restaurant reviews and food safety incident reports. By submitting content, you agree that:
- Your submissions are truthful and based on your genuine experience
- You will not submit false, misleading, defamatory, or malicious content
- You will not use reviews or reports to harass, threaten, or unfairly target a business
- SafeDine may moderate, remove, or decline to publish any submitted content at our discretion
- Incident reports undergo a moderation review before being published
Community reviews and incident reports are displayed separately and do not change a restaurant's inspection-based SafeDine score. Fraudulent or coordinated review activity will result in account suspension and removal of associated content.
Limitation of Liability
SafeDine shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our service or reliance on information provided. Safety scores are informational estimates, not guarantees of food safety. Dining decisions are made at your own risk.
Intellectual Property
The SafeDine scoring algorithm, website design, and original content are protected by intellectual property laws. The underlying inspection data is sourced from public government records across multiple states and jurisdictions. Restaurant listing data is provided by third parties (Foursquare, OpenStreetMap) under their respective licenses.
User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use our service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt our service
- Scrape or harvest data in a manner that impacts service performance
- Misrepresent SafeDine scores as official government ratings
- Submit fraudulent reviews or false incident reports
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent rate limits or moderation
Restaurant Owners
If you are a restaurant owner and believe information displayed is inaccurate, please contact us. Note that we display official inspection data from government agencies; disputes about inspection findings should be directed to the appropriate regulatory body in your jurisdiction.
Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. For material changes affecting paid subscriptions, we will notify subscribers via email.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
